PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

Contact Trisha at Classicdrm@aol.com

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE...How many times have you heard this phrase? Probably more times than you care to remember. But it rarely sinks in. Today's society wants things now and wants things easy. This is why there are so many work at home scams. Who can resist the promises of wealth and success in the blink of an eye? How many times have you been enticed by an email titled "Earn $175- $1,000 an hour"? Impatience is also one of the reasons many legit, valid freelance jobs are cast aside with barely a second glance. Legit jobs take time and take work. Unfortunately they also do not promise instant wealth and immense success.

I forgot, when I penned my original article, about society's obsession with get rich quick schemes and society's aversion to time committed work. I received many emails about my first article, and let me express my gratitude for each and every piece of feedback. I heard from young mothers, business people, men just laid off from their jobs, all wanting to know how to get into mystery shopping and merchandising.

I even received a few skeptical emails from readers accusing me of peddling a scam. They claimed I was too ambiguous about what I do to be on the up and up. I assure you this was not my intention. If I have practiced any elusiveness it was only so I did not influence you. The whole point of my article is that you have many options out there- not just merchandising and mystery shopping.

You cannot be rigid in your decisions. I implore you to research, try some jobs, find what fits YOU and YOUR lifestyle, then work hard toward your goal. I did not set out to do this type of work. I am a writer at heart, the written language is my ultimate love, my passion. I do work hard toward my goal but have accepted that I will not be that bestselling author overnight. So I have become lenient in my options and plans and have found other talents and loves - ones that do put money in the bank.

I do promise to explain in details what mystery shopping and merchandising is in due time. And of course, you can email me with any questions, I welcome that!

DETAILS OF MYSTERY SHOPPING

Please remember it has taken me well over a year to get to where I am. It has taken long hours searching for jobs, many frustrating mistakes, and disappointing checks. I established myself with a few solid companies, endlessly searched for more, got lucky on a lot of opportunities and then it began to come together. Because I was diligent, took jobs last minute in other towns, and never missed a deadline, I was referred to other companies and my job list grew. And I still work at adding more jobs.

If you want to work at home, please realize that I do not do that. I leave my house and go to stores, restaurants, etc. Sometimes I travel to other towns if  I can get a cluster of jobs  in that area. Would you travel? Can you set a rigid schedule and follow it and meet deadlines without a boss there to remind you? Can you write lengthy reports at home without interruptions? Would your significant other or parents or children be supportive of your job choices although it would take you awhile to bring in decent money? Would you be willing to purchase office equipment such as a digital camera, a fax machine, or a copier? Could you be independant and assertive enough to deal with store managers who resent your interference? And, finally, could you be patient enough to build up your workload? These are only some of the questions you should ask yourself to determine what work is best for you.

For all of you restless readers, my articles will go into more detail about what I do, and how you can begin. My goal is to help, not hinder, but not to spoon feed you. Also, if any readers freelance work, please email me with what you do so I can include many options in future articles. We can all learn from one another if we demonstrate enough patience to learn.
